In partnership with Holy Family University, the Upper Holmesburg Civic Association is pleased to announce the development of the UHCA Scholarship Fund. The Upper Holmesburg Civic Association (UHCA) offers a scholarship to support eligible students applying to Holy Family University. To qualify, applicants must either be an individual, child, or grandchild of a current dues-paying member of the UHCA. Alternatively, applicants residing within the 6th Council District may be eligible if they have a civic association sponsor and a letter of recommendation from the president of their local civic association, subject to the discretion of the UHCA Scholarship Committee.
As part of the application process, candidates must submit a completed application, a copy of their high school or most recent academic transcripts, and a list of recent extracurricular activities, including school clubs, sports, community service, or other civic involvement. Additionally, applicants are required to submit a typed essay explaining why they are an excellent candidate for the scholarship, providing examples of how they embody one or more of Holy Family University’s core values through contributions to the community, academic achievements, athletic endeavors, or other examples demonstrating your civic involvement.
